Nonsense. 93 Democrats voted against it in the House, but 190 Republicans voted for it.

The reservations are the places where people will end up who dare find fault with the state, or associate with people who do, or give them the time of day, or look sneaky.

The Constitution is very clear. The congress only has the power to instigate suspension of Habeas Corpus, and only during times of invasion or insurrection. Recently the New York Times asked the presidential candidates about the power they believe the president has. Only Ron Paul cited the Constitution’s rule about suspension of Habeas Corpus. Obama declined to answer.

This is a sad day for what used to be America. All of us have it ingrained in us from a young child what these United States of America stand for and we know this in our hearts to be against anything we have stood for. Our constitution, the bill of rights is who we are and who we will be again. I leave you with this on the eve of a new year. I ask you, who are we and what have we become? What will we have to do to become that once proud Union of people once again.
Ron Paul is the only sollution, he puts forth an honest picture of who we are and what he would like us to become once again. NOTE WELL. Obama objected when the senate removed the language which would exempt US citizens. Last I heard, they had not put it back in.

It is a red herring anyway. “First they came for the foreigners.” Mr. Obama, the “Constitutional scholar” should know that the organic laws of this country say “all men are created equal,” and that the rights which the Constitution specifically bars the government from abrogating belong to all, not only US citizens. Before the passage of the 14th amendment there WERE no US citizens, only citizens of the several States.

Senator Levin repeats himself in that clip but doesn’t speak it clearly. If that’s all you’ve got – you haven’t got anything.

Surely you must have another source?

Everything else I’ve read says it was Levin himself (along with McCain) who pushed for indefinite detention – under the military.

Did someone say, ” It is time for Perry” . Perry believes in this NDAA indefinate detention stuff and so do all the rest of the neoconjob Republican Candidates, as well as most Republicans and Democrats: EXCEPT FOR RON PAUL!

Time for a recall petition and vote!

MAKE SURE you know if your Senator or House Rep voted for this bill…and if so, VOTE THEM OUT!!! If they are a Dem, vote GOP; if GOP, vote DEM to send a CLEAR message!

And as for our President, he gets a pink slip too this November. MAKE IT SO!!! This is inexcusable!

The fact is Ron Paul has a 30 year record of upholding individual freedom, rights, liberty, based on the Constitution. He opposes the corrupt over-powered Federal government with things like the privacy invasion of the TSA, the evil Patriot Act, the 4th amendment killing NDAA bill, the internet censorship bill SOPA, the racist and corrupt War on Drugs, and the unjust wars in the middle east.

Ron Paul is the only one fighting against those issues. Ron Paul is the ONLY vote that can beat Obama, pulling votes from dissatisfied Dems, the growing Independent population, and a growing portion of the Republicans. A vote for Paul is the ONLY vote for peace, prosperity and liberty.

Meredith you are wrong. The paragraph excluding US citizens does preclude the military from detaining US citizens but rather removes the requirement that they MUST be detained by the military. If you read it (the stuff signed by the President) you will find that this citizen provision merely allows the President to make the determination as to whether someone originally taken can be tried in civilian OR military court whereas a non-citizen MUST be tried by the military court.

“The requirement to detain a person in military custody under this section does not extend to citizens of the United States.” -NDAA signed by Obama

The NDAA REQUIRES that the military detain persons. the citizen paragraph gives them the flexibility to send civilians to regular courts IF THEY WANT TO!

Do Iowa democrats and New Hampshire Indys need any more reason why they should Vote and Caucus for RON PAUL … if we lose our freedom a nuke would be welcome

Why did the ‘community organizer’ sign this on new years eve and while on vacation and why is it buried in the news??? Where is the big rose garden ceremony where he hands out 500 pens and has Biden saying this is f—king awesome? This traitor and any legislator regardless of party who voted yes needs to be voted out. Couple this new NDAA Act that the President tyrannously signed into law with the “domestic terrorist” list that the Dept of Homeland Security has been compiling since 2009 and folks…we have a problem. YOU could be arrested WITHOUT any rights, hauled off, and never heard from again, WITHOUT a trial if the Government feels that you’re a threat for such heinous violations as:

-Expressing Libertarian philosophies
-Having Second Amendment-oriented views (NRA or gun club membership, holding a CCW permit)
-Expressing fears of Big Brother or big government
-Homeschooling
-Declaring Constitutional rights and civil liberties
-Being strongly Pro-life

This is NOT conspiracy theorist spoutings. This is not fear mongering. This is happening right in front of our eyes while we are entertained, distracted by toys, and lulled to sleep.

Politicians are the Criminal Class of every nation, and this just goes to demonstrate that ours are no better than those in Germany in the Thirties. They passed the “Enabling Act” which gave Hitler extraordinary powers to deal with “terrorism” and unrest. Now, the Congress has given the president powers that they have no authority to give. This is the destruction of the Bill of Rights. What these fools don’t realize is that THEY are subject to this same act. They could find themselves in military custody, held without charge.

November is time to clean up Washington. Every criminal who voted for this bill should be out looking for employment. Or better, behind bars.

Well, Happy New Year everyone. We might as well all get to know each other. Who knows, we may all be spending next New Year’s Eve on a concrete slab in a dungeon somewhere.

By this act of treason, the 4th, 5th, and 14th Amendments were just removed from of Constitution. The citizens of this country have just become the terrorists.
